Moose Mountain Cross Country Ski Trails

Thanks to an ‘Access and Activity’ grant from MEC the Moose Mountain Cross Country Ski Trails trails now boast a trailhead kiosk with map and a cozy warming hut less than 1 km into a groomed trail system. Further brushing by youth crews and a volunteer program of grooming and tracksetting provides a series of loops totalling 8 kilometres of skiable terrain.

The fireguard crew ensured that cut brush was removed from the trails, Ground Truth delivered firewood, Strong like Horse built a ski rack and the Sled Dawgs assisted with grooming and tracksetting. Involving youth is key. An arrangement between TH Heritage Department and the Robert Service School Tech Ed class had youth acquiring carpentry skills building the walls of the warming hut which were later assembled onsite.
